Public Services is responsible for providing public affairs planning, speech writing, and media-relations support to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs (ASD/RA). The Office strives to tell the Reserve Affairs story and increase public knowledge of the U.S. Military Reserve components.
At the same time, Public Services seeks to promote understanding of Department of Defense initiatives, policies, and programs that affect the National Guard and Reserve. Staff members research and prepare speeches, news releases, and opinion-editorial and feature articles for external dissemination.
In addition, the Office is responsible for processing Freedom of Information Act requests, security reviews for Reserve Affairs written products, and responses to inquiries.
