Senior Airman Michael D. Campbell is a Crew Chief assigned to the 908th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He is 38 years old. SrA Campbell was born in Pensacola, Florida, on 2 September 1972. He attended Ernest Ward High School, graduating in June 1991. While in high school, he played football and baseball. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as a Power Generation Mechanic. He served at Fort Hood, Texas and Kitzengen, Germany. After his enlistment, he worked as a technician for Coca Cola. He graduated Haywood Community College in May 2002 with an Associate in Arts degree. Upon graduation, he went to Western Carolina University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with an astonishing 3.9 grade point average with a double major Photography and French. He worked as an independent contractor until enlisting into the Air Force Reserve in 2009. Since arriving at Maxwell AFB, SrA Campbell has been a staunch community activist. He has helped Habitat for Humanity, delivers shredded paper to the local Humane Society, worked with Baskin-N-Sonshine Ministry in Atlanta, Georgia. Likewise, he serves meals at the Salvation Army and tutored low income children enrolled in Upward Bound. In 2010, he earned his Community College of the Air Force degree, completed his 5-level course with an amazing 92 percent on his end of course exam, and completed Airmen Leadership School. Dedicated to acquiring military knowledge, he completed Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education.
