SGT Guy Mellor
1st Battalion, 145th Field Artillery Utah National Guard
Sergeant Guy Mellor just recently earned an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering and is enrolled in Fall Semester at Utah Valley University to complete his Bachelors Degree. He enlisted into the Utah Army National Guard as a 13B; Cannon Crewmember. He is currently assigned to in B Battery, 1-145th Field Artillery Battalion. He enlisted 2 weeks after his 17th birthday.
He attended Basic Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in Ft Sill, OK and graduated as a 13B. Being the leader that SGT Mellor is, he was assigned by his Drill Sergeant as the Platoon Guide (PG) for the entire cycle of Basic Training. His years of service are six years, four active and two inactive in the Army National Guard. SGT Mellor has always believed that Physical Training (PT) is essential to the health of a good Soldier. SGT Mellor has always exceeded and surpassed the standards for the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) and always encourages his fellow Soldiers to do the same. SGT Mellor has completed Pre-BCT, RSO, BCT, AIT, Warrior Leadership Course (WLC), and Advanced Leadership Course (ALC) phase II.
SGT Mellor's awards include the Army Commendation w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Utah Commendation Medal w/ Bronze Beehive, Utah Achievement Ribbon, and Utah Service Ribbon w/ Bronze Beehive.
