Master Sergeant Christopher R. Taggart

Master Sergeant Christopher Taggart is a First Sergeant assigned to the 177th Security Forces Squadron, 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard located at the Atlantic City International Airport, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. He enlisted in the New Jersey Army National Guard and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning Georgia. upon graduation, he was assigned to the 1/114 (M) Infantry. In 1998 MSgt Taggart enlisted in the New Jersey Air National Guard. He attended the Security Forces Academy at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Upon completion of the Academy he was assigned to is permanent duty location at the 177th Security Forces Squadron. He has served in a variety of positions including INstallation Entry Controller and Combat Arms Instructor. He deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDROM. While there, Sergeant Taggart volunteered to be a member of the Fly Away Security Team. in November 2008, MSgt Taggart was selected to become the First Sergeant of the Security Forces Squadron. in October 2009 he once again showed his commitment to the security of our nation by volunteering for a six month deployment of Afghanistan. From March of 2010 until September 2010 MSgt Taggart was the First Sergeant to the 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Forces Squadron, Bagram Airfield Afghanistan. MSgt Taggart is an active member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard and volunteers as an assistant football coach to the Galloway Renegades Youth Football club. His military awards include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Service Medal, NATO Non Article 5 medal, and the State of New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal.
